When I checked on 30 September 2026, the best-selling product in Amazon US’s whole beauty store was not a cream or a serum. It was a jar of acid pads.
Short answer:
- Yes, medicube is legit. It belongs to APR, a Korean beauty company on the Korean stock exchange since 2024.
- The Zero Pore Pad 2.0 is an exfoliating acid pad, not a soothing pad. It suits oily, rough, blackhead-prone skin.
- The brand says daily use is fine. In my view, how often depends on how much oil your skin makes — and skip it if your skin is dry, sensitive or on a retinoid.
Rough, oily skin with blackheads on your nose?
This is the pad most people reach for first.

Lactic acid works on the surface; salicylic acid works inside oily pores. One side of the pad is embossed for wiping, the other is smooth for a final pass.
Is medicube a good brand, or just good marketing?
medicube is made by APR Corp., a Korean company founded in 2014 that also owns Aprilskin and Forment. It listed on the Korea Exchange in February 2024 (company release). Amazon names APR as the manufacturer.
So the company is real. That says nothing about your skin, though. The oil and pore numbers on medicube’s page come from the brand’s own tests, not published studies. I read the ingredient list instead.
What is actually in the Zero Pore Pad 2.0?
The Amazon listing says 4.5% lactic acid (an AHA) and 0.45% salicylic acid (a BHA). medicube’s US site puts the 0.45% under white willow bark instead, so treat the exact split as the seller’s claim.
The list reads like an acid pad:
- Lactic acid is fourth. It loosens the “glue” between dead surface cells.
- Salicylic acid and betaine salicylate come later. Salicylic acid mixes with oil, so it can work inside the pore.
- Tromethamine, third, is a buffer that makes the liquid less acidic.
- Alcohol, citrus and lavender oils, and limonene — scent-type ingredients that some sensitive skin reacts to.
- Panthenol, allantoin, centella and hyaluronic acid calm and hydrate.
The pH is not published, and it matters. A US safety panel judged consumer lactic and glycolic acid products safe at 10% or less, with a pH of 3.5 or higher (FDA summary). 4.5% is well under that ceiling; the pH I cannot check.

Can you use medicube Zero Pore Pads every day?
medicube says yes, morning and night, and suggests a few times a week for very sensitive skin.
My clinical judgement, not a proven fact: how often depends on how much oil your skin makes — oily skin tolerates more, dry or sensitive skin less. Go up only if your skin stays calm. The American Academy of Dermatology warns that over-exfoliating can leave skin red and irritated (AAD).
Wear sunscreen, too. In studies with a 10% glycolic acid cream, another AHA, skin reddened more easily under UV after four weeks; it went back to normal within about a week of stopping [1]. In a separate comparison, 2% salicylic acid did not. Here is how to read a Korean sunscreen label.
Who should skip it?
- Dry, flaky or tight skin.
- Sensitive, red or easily stinging skin. If a plain moisturiser stings, the barrier needs rest, not acid.
- Anyone using a retinoid, retinol or benzoyl peroxide. The AAD notes these already make skin more sensitive or peel.
- Skin that leaves dark marks after spots or bites. The AAD advises against strong exfoliation here.
- Freshly shaved skin, or skin after a laser or peel. medicube itself says to avoid shaved or irritated skin.
A pad will not shrink pores, either; see why oily skin has big pores.
What I tell my patients
In America, the best-selling pad peels. In Korea, the award-winning pad calms. At Olive Young, Korea’s biggest beauty chain, a carrot calming pad has won the pad category five years running (2021–2025), per Olive Young’s yearly awards.
Think of your outer skin as a brick wall. Acids take bricks off the top. Calm skin rebuilds the wall; skin stripped every day never finishes. That outer layer also helps block UV [1].
So I say: calm first, exfoliate second — a soothing pad most days, an acid pad as an occasional extra. That is my clinical view, not a proven fact. My toner pad guide covers the carrot pad and the other families.

FAQ
Is medicube a good brand?
It is a real, publicly listed Korean company, APR Corp. Whether a product is good depends on your skin. The Zero Pore Pad is an acid exfoliant best suited to oily, rough skin.
Can you use medicube Zero Pore Pads every day?
The brand says yes. In my clinical judgement, how often depends on how much oil your skin makes — oily skin tolerates more, dry or sensitive skin less. Increase only if your skin stays calm.
Are medicube Zero Pore Pads good for sensitive skin?
Usually not as a first choice. They contain lactic and salicylic acid plus essential oils and limonene. medicube sells a separate “Mild” version; I have not reviewed its label.
