Got Rejuran yesterday. What can I put on?

For today, nothing but a plain barrier cream.
When can I use my PDRN serum?

Once the needle marks close, usually day two or three.
And my retinol?

I’d wait a full week, along with acids and scrubs.
Your face is full of tiny needle marks, and the internet says this is the moment to “push in” a serum.
Short answer:
- First 24 hours: a plain, fragrance-free barrier cream. Nothing active.
- Day 2 or 3, once the marks have closed: a fragrance-free PDRN or hyaluronic acid serum is fine.
- Retinol, acids, scrubs, spicule serums and saunas wait a full week.
Should I put serum into fresh needle marks?
I understand the idea: the holes are open, so the good stuff gets in. But tiny needle channels close fast. In a human study of microneedles, the skin’s barrier came back within about 2 hours [3]. By the time you get home, most of the “door” is shut.
And when something does slip in too deep, it can backfire. Doctors have reported lumps of inflammation (granulomas) after vitamin C serum was used with microneedling [4, 5]. These are rare single cases from a different procedure, not from Rejuran or filler. Still, they are why I keep actives off broken skin.
What should the first 7 days look like?

Barrier first, serum second, strong actives last.
Your clinic’s sheet comes first. Even official advice differs. Juvederm’s maker says no makeup for 12 hours, and no alcohol, hard exercise or strong sun and heat for 24 hours [2]. The American Academy of Dermatology says you should be able to wear makeup before you leave, and not to touch the area for three days unless told to massage [1].
Some collagen-building injections, like Juvelook, may come with massage instructions. Follow them.
Day 1 to 2: which barrier cream?
Fragrance-free, boring, and thick enough to stop the sting.

The brand’s full ingredient list has ceramides and cholesterol, and no fragrance or essential oil. The tube itself says “Fragrance Free”. It has soybean and canola oil, so it is on the rich side.
Day 3 on: Rejuran’s ampoule or medicube’s serum?
Both contain DNA fragments (PDRN). Neither is the injection. A serum sits on the skin; the injection was placed under it. (How the injections differ: Juvelook vs Rejuran.)
Want the same brand as your injection?

Photo: the brand’s official store.
The bottle says c-PDRN 0.5%, with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. No fragrance or essential oil is listed, but there are several plant extracts. If plant extracts have bothered you before, skip it.
Its US site mentions use after cosmetic injections. The support listed is an in-house test on one volunteer. About $52 on Amazon US when I checked (October 2026).
Approved means I read the full label and would be fine with a patient using it. It is not a guarantee.
Want the cheaper bottle?

The label says 1% PDRN, plus niacinamide and peptides, for about $19. But fragrance is on its ingredient list, so I would save it for after day 7.
Its page suggests pairing it with the brand’s “exosome shot”. That is a spicule serum, which the brand calls “micro-needling in a bottle”. Not this week. More in my Reedle Shot guide.
What should I skip for the first week?
- Retinol and other retinoids
- Acids: AHA, BHA, and vitamin C serums
- Scrubs, peel-off masks, spicule serums
- Sauna, hot baths, hot yoga
From the day the marks close, use sunscreen every day. If yours stings, see why sunscreen burns.
What I tell my patients
- Day 1 is for healing, not for products.
- The PDRN serum is a nice extra, not part of the treatment.
- Pain that keeps getting worse, or a patch of skin turning pale, grey or dusky, is not a skincare question. Call your clinic that day.
These timings are my clinical judgement, not tested rules; no study has compared them. For other injection choices, see Korean fillers vs Juvederm and Korean clinics, honestly.

FAQ
What can I put on my face after filler?
On day one, a plain fragrance-free moisturiser, and makeup only when your clinic says so; official advice ranges from right away to 12 hours [1, 2]. Add serums once the injection marks have closed, and strong actives after a week.
What skincare should I avoid after Rejuran?
For about a week I would skip retinol, acids including vitamin C serums, scrubs, spicule serums and saunas. Your clinic’s own instructions come first.
Can I use a PDRN serum after Rejuran?
Yes, once the marks have closed, usually around day two or three, and preferably one without fragrance. It is a pleasant extra, not more of the injection.
