Is Torriden Dive-In Serum Good? A Doctor Reads the Label

Five kinds of hyaluronic acid in one $24 bottle sounds like a marketing line. I read all 33 ingredients on the back to see what is really there.

Short answer:

  • For most skin, it is a sensible, simple hydrating serum. Water-holding ingredients and five forms of hyaluronic acid fill the top of the list, with calming panthenol right behind.
  • What is missing is just as useful: no fragrance, essential oils, drying alcohol or exfoliating acids are listed.
  • It hydrates; it does not treat. It will not clear acne or fade dark spots, and dry skin still needs a cream on top.

Skin that feels tight and thirsty an hour after washing?

This is the step that adds water before your cream seals it in. Torriden sells it on its US site for $24 for 50 ml, and on Amazon US it is sold by Torriden’s own store.

What is actually in Torriden Dive-In serum?

The official list has 33 ingredients. Four groups matter:

  • Water magnets, first five. Water, butylene glycol, glycerin, dipropylene glycol and 1,2-hexanediol. Most of the bottle is this base.
  • Five forms of hyaluronic acid, 7th to 11th. Torriden calls them “5D”. Hyaluronic acid holds water in the top layer of skin. In a 60-day study of 76 women, creams with 0.1% hyaluronic acid of several sizes all improved skin moisture, and only the smaller sizes reduced wrinkle depth [1]. Torriden does not publish its sizes or amounts.
  • Calming helpers. Panthenol is 6th, high for a “helper”. In a cream study it sped up repair of irritated skin compared with the same cream without it [2]. Allantoin and two centella compounds, madecassoside and madecassic acid, follow.
  • Barrier fats, in small amounts. Ceramide NP and cholesterol are two of the fats your skin barrier is built from. They sit 20th and 23rd, so expect a supporting role.

Madecassic acid sounds like an acid, but it is a centella compound, not an exfoliant.

A quick way to read any label: check the first ten ingredients, then check what is missing.

What is not in it?

By the official list: no fragrance, no essential oils, no ethanol, no exfoliating acids such as AHA or BHA, and no plant oils. The preservative helpers are 1,2-hexanediol and ethylhexylglycerin; no parabens are listed.

Torriden says the formula was non-irritating in its patch test on 50 people, and that it keeps skin moist for 48 hours, based on 20 people. Those are the brand’s own tests, not published studies.

Who is it for, and who should skip it?

Good fits:

  • Oily but dehydrated skin that feels tight yet shines by noon. There is no oil to weigh it down.
  • Dry skin, under a richer cream.
  • Reactive skin looking for a short, scent-free step. Torriden lists normal, combination and dry skin.

Skip or test first:

  • A known allergy to a plant extract. Purslane, witch hazel leaf, skullcap root and peony root sit low on the list. That is a general rule, not a reaction reported for this serum.
  • Anyone expecting a treatment. For acne or dark spots you need an active ingredient, which this serum does not claim to have.

What I tell my patients

  • Pat it onto damp skin, then seal it with a cream. On its own, a watery serum can leave dry skin feeling tight again. In the morning, sunscreen goes last. That is my clinical habit, not a tested rule.
  • One new product at a time. Try it on a small area, like the side of the jaw, for a few days.
  • After a clinic treatment, a plain, scent-free layer like this is the kind I prefer; follow your clinic’s sheet first, as I explain in skincare after HIFU or Thermage.

FAQ

Is Torriden Dive-In serum good for sensitive skin?

Its official ingredient list has no fragrance, essential oils, ethanol or exfoliating acids, and panthenol sits high on the list. That makes it a reasonable first try for reactive skin, but patch-test first if you react to plant extracts.

Is Torriden Dive-In serum good for oily skin?

Usually, yes. It is a watery serum with no oils listed. Oily skin can be dehydrated too, and a light hydrating layer can help it feel less tight.

Can I use Torriden serum every day?

Nothing on the label argues against daily use. I suggest once or twice a day, before your moisturiser and, in the morning, your sunscreen.
